Coaches & Volunteers

East Cherokee Baseball is run by volunteers. Coaches, scorekeepers, field prep, and concessions — none of it happens without the people who show up.

Open positions

Volunteer openings aren't posted yet

When the board posts open coaching and volunteer spots, they'll appear here. In the meantime, email us — we can almost always use another hand.

What it takes

Head coach
One practice per week plus games — roughly 3 to 4 hours on game days
Assistant coach
Same schedule as the head coach; most coordination happens at the field
Scorekeeper
Home games only — about 2 hours per game
Field prep & teardown
Dragging the infield, chalking the lines, putting bases away — 30 to 45 minutes before and after games

Background checks

All coaches complete a background check

Anyone with regular access to players — head coaches, assistants, anyone on the field during practices — completes a background screening before the season starts. The board coordinates this; it takes about ten minutes online.
